Jupiter Spectacular Image taken from James Webb

The James Webb space telescope took the picture of the Jupiter in July.
Astronomers have described as incredible Picture of the Jupiter ever because images show auroras, giant storms, moons and rings surrounding Jupiter.
The Infrared images were artificially coloured astronomer Imke de pater of the university of California who played an important role in this project.
JWST is an International mission led by the Nasa along with ESA and Canadian space agent .
Nasa Said that view of Jupiter created from composite of several pictures from the telescope , Auroras extended to high altitudes above the northern and southern poles of Jupiter.
The Great Red Spot a famous storm which is so big (16350 km), appeared white because of reflected of sunlight.
The JWST was launched in December 2021 and it currently placed about 1.6 million km from Earth.

Apple , last week released following new products iPhone SE , iPad Air, Mac Studio and Mac Studio Ultra.

New iPhone SE supports 5G network and also it has powerful A15 Bionic chip and 12mp camera

iPad Air consists of M1 chip which was used in mac book air and Mac book pro model. This device also supports 5G network and also support up to 2Gen Apple Pencil.

This Mac studio comes with two variants of chip M1 Max and M1 Ultra

M1 Max features, It has 10 Core CPU, 32 core GPU and it has separate media engine , Neural Engine which can perform 11 billion operation per second.

M1 Ultra is $4000 dollar machine and it had double the CPU and GPU cores of M1 Max . It has 20 Core CPU in that 16 Core High Efficiency core and 4 core power efficiency core. I has 64 Core GPU with is 8 times faster than the previous Gen Chip.

This chip supports up to 128Gb of RAM (unified memory) and 8 TB SSD.

32 Core Neural Engine can perform 11 trillion operation per second

Reason Behind the Facebook Outage

Last week October 4, Facebook services are down for 6 hours . According to Facebook this outage is not caused by any cyber attacks and main reason for the outage is due to the their BGP , this will show us a path to Facebook Data Centers.

Facebook Detailed about this incident caused due to one of regular maintenance , they mentioned that in order to check quality of global backbone capacity when they entered the command on machine and entire network connection is disconnected and Facebook also lost its connection to own Data Centers around the World. They also further mentioned that they have audit tool to stop these type of issue but due to bug it could not work properly.

These caused the BGP issue this is the protocol will advertise the DNS server IP address to rest of internet. while due to data Center disconnected BGP stop advertising this leads to entire outage around the world.

When will I get Windows 11

Windows, on October 5 officially stated that it is releasing the new Windows 11 to new and eligible computer. So if we have windows 10 machine when we will get the windows 11 . Windows stated they will release the update in phased major based on when device is purchased and hardware eligibility. Windows said new eligible device will get first update and they did not mention that device name right now and existing devices will get update by mid 2022.

APPLE New Mobile Processor A15 Bionic Chip

Apple A15 Bionic Chip

Apple  Officially released its new mobile Processor  A15 series chip last week. 

Apple  A15  Bionic CPU has Two performance cores named as Avalanche CPU cores and four Power Efficient CPU core named as Blizzard cores. This CPU has max clock frequency  of  3.23 GHz. 

This  SOC is built using 5nm fabrication process by TSMC , Taiwan.

GPU – It has two variant  4 core and 5 core GPU ,  4 core GPU are used in iPhone 13 and mini , 5 core GPU is used in iPhone 13 pro and max.

Neural Engine –  It has 16 Core Neural Engine while is useful for processing the Machine learning tasks. It can perform 15.8 trillion operations per second.

Apple has significantly increased its chip transistors from 11.8 billion to 15 billion.  i.e. – 1 billion = 100 crores.

Major highlights of this chip is GPU performance according to Geek bench 5 , A15 bionic  GPU is 55% increase performance when compare to last generation A14 Bionic chip.

APPLE also update some of features like New Video Encoder and Decoder , Image Signal Processor and also New Engine for Display this allows new apple phone can work in different screen Hz based on Touch Response by the users.

OSIRIS-Rex

Osiris- Rex satellite is returning back to earth from Benu Asteroid .

Osiris -Rex is the mission to collect the sample from the Asteriod Benu, this mission launched in September 8 2016 from Florida.

In August 2018 it has approached Benu and following month we can see the clear picture of Benu. After serious of flights around the Benu, scientist spotted the best place to take the sample and in October 2020 satellite touch the Benu for the Brief moment and collected the samples .

After the collection of sample from Benu, satellite moved to safe distance and sample was safely sealed. The mass of collection sample might be between 60g to 2000g.

On October 22 2020 Osiris-Rex Departure from benu orbit and continued its journey to Earth.

Rex will returned to earth by Sep 24, 2023. When satellite reached the earth orbit it will release it capsule and that will safely fall into the Utah desert.

Benu

Benu Discovered in 1999 and its radius is 262 m. Benu is confirmed potentially hazardous asteroid and we have chance of 0.037 hitting the earth between 2175 to 2199.

Hubble 31st Birthday Gift to US

AG Carinae

Hubble Completed is 31 years of journey in Space yesterday – April 24.

During this Day Nasa Goddard YouTube Channel Published the Video about Image taken by Hubble on its 31year of completion in space.

Hubble captured the Wonderful Image of Exploding Star AG Carinae which is 70 times massive than our Sun.

Its Shinning Brilliance Light is equal to the million of our star brightness.

This Sun was Exploded 10000 years Ago so we can see the Halo of Gas and Dust Around the Star center mass.

This Nebulae Covers about 5 Light Years of distance from the center of its Sun .

Hubble Once Show us how the Stars are so Powerful and breath taking to watch. Every Elements in universe except hydrogen and helium are formed by sun and during its explosion.

Hubble Deep Field Image is still one of wonderful image taken by Hubble this day. This image is consists of 10 days of exposure of Hubble in particular direction in space from December 18 and 28, 1995. This image shows how big was our universe every dots in that Picture is a Galaxy. Using this image we also find the old light of our Universe which is less than billion years from birth of our Universe.

In CES 2021 , on Jan 12 Samsung revealed the new Mobile Processor Exynos 2100 and this processor supports 5G Cellular Network.

Specification:

  1. This chip built on 5nm process node.

  2. Similar to Snapdragon 888 , Samsung added the Cortex X1 as Prime core and the Max clock frequency of this core is 2.9 GHZ

  3. CPU : It is a 8 Core CPU with One Prime Core Cortex X1 and 3 High performance Core of Cortex A78 Clocked Max up to 2.8GHz and 4 Power efficiency Core of Cortex A55 Clocked Max up to 2.2GHz.

  4. GPU: It has 14 Core Mali G78 GPU and it can supports new Vulkan and OpenCL Graphics Libraries.

  5. It can Support up to 4k Screen with 120Hz refresh rate and also supports 144Hz refresh rate for QHD+ display.

  6. This Chip is capable of supporting 200MP Single Camera.

  7. This chip supports both 4G and 5G Networks. In 5G According to Samsung data if our network is connected in mmWave it can have peak download speed of 7.35 Gbps and we can Upload the data at 3.67 Gbps speed.

  8. Memory Technology LPDDR5 .

  9. It has Tri Core NPU which can perform 26 Trillion operation per second. They also mentioned this architecture is twice the power efficiency than the previous chip.

  10. Overall the CPU will give us 30 percent increase in Multicore performance and GPU Jumps to 40 percent more powerful than Exynos 990 Processor.

  11. Samsung also mentioned they implemented the  advanced multi-IP governor (AMIGO) technology to reduce the power consumption on both GPU and CPU.

The Great Conjunction is name given to the two Mega Planets in our Solar System come together to form large star in the night sky. These two Biggest Planets are namely the Jupiter (largest planet) and Saturn (second largest planet).

Today 21 December the we can the see this event in the night sky . We can see the planets at southwestern sky. We can see this event without any eye protection.

SNAPDRAGON 888

Qualcomm released its premium tier mobile processor chip named snapdragon 888.

CPU :

Kyro 680 CPU has one Prime core of arm Cortex -x1 clocked at 2.84GHz with 1MB L2 Cache . It has three Big Cores of Cortex A78 Clocked at 2.4 GHz with 512KB L2 Cache and finally it has four efficiency core of Cortex A55 Clocked at 1.8GHz with 128KB L2 Cache. Cortex X1 is used for accelerate single threaded performance.

According to Qualcomm this CPU is 25% more powerful than previous gen and 25% more power efficient

process node : These processor built on 5nm node

GPU:

Adreno 660 GPU they mentioned it is 35% more powerful in graphics rendering and 20% more power efficient . Qualcomm also said that they have implemented the game quick touch technology so this will improve the touch response on the screen. They also implemented the desktop processor technology to this SOC named as Variable Rate Shading .

Connectivity:

Qualcomm implemented the 5G modem inside this chip named as X 60 Modem . This modem is capable of 7.5 Gbps download speed and 3 Gbps upload speed.

Qualcomm Fast Connect is another implementation on this SOC this part is implemented for Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E ( 6GHz). This also has Bluetooth 5.2 support.

Qualcomm Spectra 580 is new image processor used in this chip which is 35% increase in speed compare to previous Gen. This will also improves the low light photo capturing. in Burst capture mode we can capture 120 photos per second.

Qualcomm also implemented the 10bit HDR HEIF Photo Capture so we can capture the photo with over one billion shades of color.

This ISP support 8k video capture at 30FPS

Hexagon 780 Processor : This architecture is used for AI purpose . It has 43% faster AI performance when compare to previous generation processor. This processor can handle 26TOPS Trillion operations per second.

Hypervisor: Qualcomm has introduced the Hypervisor for the first time in Soc. They claimed this improve the security of device and we can run isolated Operating System for each app in one mobile phone.

Over all this processor will give you 20% faster CPU performance , 35% Faster graphics rendering and improved the ISP and Hexagon Processor.

A NEW SOC FOR MAC

Apple announced its new chip for its new MacBook line up . On November 10,2020 Apple announced the new M1 chip for upcoming mac products.

M1 chip is similar to processor used in mobile Phones. Qualcomm also introduced the similar type of chip named as 8cx for laptop on 2018.

M1 chip features:

8 Core CPU , 8 Core GPU, 16Core Neural Engine.

M1 has 16 Billion Transistors which is built on 5 nm fabrication node. This makes the chip as more power efficient.

Apple Claims the 8 Core CPU is 3.5x faster than intel 1.2GHz quadcore i7 processor and 8 Core GPU can handle 25K threads at the same time. 16 core Neural Engine can run 11 trillion operations per second.

Apple also introduced three Mac products built using this M1 chip MacBook Air , MacBook Pro 13 , Mac Mini.

Memory for this computer built internally inside the M1 chip, so when you purchasing the laptop you should be careful of choosing the memory configuration because you didn’t have a option to increase the memory once you have bought these products.

Apple said all of his mac products will be shifted from intel based chips to apple based SOC within next two years.

Apple may introduce new Soc chip for mac book pro 16 in feature this will be more powerful than M1 Chip to handle heavy task.

Our Sun next Solar Cycle

Our Sun next solar cycle started on Sep2020.


Solar cycle happen every 11 years. This solar cycle calculated based on minimum and maximum solar activity. During this period the sun flip the magnetic field from north to south so these leads to heavy solar activity and when sun reaches it peak activity we can see many Sun spots.


Sunspots are usually black in color in visible light, but when we see the Sun in ultra violet wavelength we can see the intensive magnetic field activity .


Why we need to monitor the Solar cycle?

During the Sun’s peak active period large amount of coronal mass ejection will happen , so during this time it will directly affect the earth and heats up the earth atmosphere that will cause damage to electric transmission , pipelines ,communication towers and satellites. Also this huge radiation affect the astronauts in space station.


So Continuous Monitoring will help us to understand pattern of the peak solar activity , Using that we can prevent the electronic equipment by turning off the device during the peak solar period. Also we warn the astronaut not to do the space walk during that period.

Usually peak solar activity happens in middle of the solar cycle. Last one happen at 2012.

AMD announced three new Graphics Card on Wednesday( 28/10/2020).
Radeon 6900 XT , 6800 XT, RX6800 These Graphics Card are direct competition to Nvidia Graphics Processor which was currently available( RTX3090 , RTX 3080)
These processor was built using TSMC 7nm node and it has 26.8 billion transistors .
These processor are built using new RDNA 2 Architecture these leads to 65% increase in power per watt ratio when compare to previous Generation Architecture.
Feature of this new Graphics processors:
Cache : AMD named their cache as AMD Infinity Cache . They have implemented 128MB cache with 256bit 16Gbps bandwidth this will increase the performance for GPU and reduce the latency while gaming.
AMD Standard Access memory: This feature will help the CPU can access the GPU memory directly. While this feature only possible if you going to connect AMD GPU with AMD CPU.
These processor also support the Direct x 12 and Direct X ray tracing . Ray tracing is possible by Hardware Ray Accelerator special compute unit implemented inside the chip.

Apple A14 Bionic Chip

Apple updated their SOC line up with the A14 bionic chip. Apple said CPU performance of the chip is 40% faster than the previous Gen and GPU Performance raised to 30% faster than the previous chip.
One of the main feature of the chip is size of transistor. This chip built using 5nm Tsmc fabrication , this will make chip more efficient . Due tiny size of transistor they have added 11.8 billion transistors to the chip.
This chip was designed as previous gen architecture style . The CPU is Hexa core 2 large cores and 4 power efficient core . Custom apple GPU is having 4 cores .
Apple has updated the Neural Engine to 16 core , so chip is capable of doing 11 billion operation/sec . They have updated the CPU machine learning accelerators to Gen2 so machine learning calculation will be 10 times faster then the previous gen Chip.

Ligo and Virgo detected largest black hole merger

Computer simulation model
This merger approximately happen at 5 gigaparsecs (1 gigaparsecs = 19 trillion miles) from our planet. This caused the huge gravitational waves in cosmic space and this gravitational waves are detected by two detector Ligo and Virgo . According to research this event is caused by merger of two intermediate black hole and their mass are between the 100 to 1000 times of of our SUN. This was named as GW190521 the name given based on the gravitational waves detection on May 21 ,2019.
info: gravitational waves means massive ripple effect in space time caused by violent explosion like supernova explosion or merger of black holes or merger of neutron stars.
Ligo : This is the 4km long detector in United states .
Virgo: This is the 3km long detector in Italy.
These two detector used to listen the gravitational waves that passes the earth.
According to Ligo this merger creates the new mega black hole which is 142 times massive than our sun and also released energy which massive as 8 times of our sun, this energy spread across the space in the form of gravitational waves. This event is happen in just 1/10 of second.

These cores are developed by the Nvidia for  parallel computing .
why we need 10496 cores for GPU , while modern CPU has 8/16/32 cores is enough for computing? During the graphics intensive work the computer need to work on complex calculation simultaneously so these huge core in graphics card will resolve the problems in parallel.  compare to Intel or AMD Cpu architecture CUDA core are designed smaller.

Perseid Meteor Shower

Perseid Meteor Shower usually occurs from July 14 to August 24 in North Skies Every Year. This year August 12 and 13 are calculated as peak days to see the Meteor Showers. During this Peak time we can see 100 meteor per hour. In India we can see the Meteor shower from 11.30pm to 5.30am .

How this Meteor shower occurs?
These meteors are the remaining Pieces of Comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle. This comet spin around the sun every 133 year last seen on 1992. Comets, when they approaching the sun some of its surface rock will left as debris throughout the comet path . Every year Earth passes through this Debris leads to Meteor Shower.

Sentinel-1 Satellite Maps the Earth Quake from the Space

On Jun 23,2020 a 7.2 Magnitude Earthquake hits the Oaxaca, Mexico. Due this Earthquake people are evacuated and Tsunami warning is triggered across the region.
While currently we did not have model to predict the Earthquake, using the satellite we can study the impact caused by earthquake and movement of the land. Currently Esa Satellite Sentinel 1 is used to observe the earth quake and volcanic eruption.
During the current earth quake with the help of Sential 1 Scientist combined the images of previous and after earth quake images while this images are taken different dates. using this image scientist found the interference pattern this named as interferogram this will clearly show how much the surface is actually displaced from the previous position. During this earthquake the surface is displaced about 0.45m in the epicenter (La Crucecita ).
This type of information will help the scientists to understand more about the Earth Quakes. This displacement is measured from east to west.

Our Sun Closest Image

Esa Solar orbiter sends the closet image of our SUN. This orbiter launched in FEB 2020, Last month it sends numerous picture of in close proximity.

These images are taken by solar probe at 17nm wavelength which is the Extreme ultra violet wavelength in Electromagnetic spectrum. This reveals the upper atmosphere of SUN which is named as Corona. These corona will have the temperature ranges from 1 million degree Celsius to 2 million degree Celsius.

This analysis are taken on MAY30, 2020 during this time solar probe roughly halfway distance between the sun and earth.

Qualcomm VVC

Qualcomm completed the new video compression technique named as Versatile Video Coding(VVC). According to Qualcomm this compression is 40% efficient than HEVC(H.265).So 40% file size will be reduced with same video quality, also it will reduce the raw data file to 1000x smaller file. This will be available from 2021. This will be expected to be widely adopted after 2021 in most of the streaming service.

Neowise Comet Going to be visible in India.

Neowise or Comet C/2020 F3 is going to visible in India from July 14 and we see the comet for next 20 days. This comet is visible after Sunset and you can the comet with tail for 20 Minutes.
This Comet is 5 km wide and moving towards the Sun . Comets are rock which usually comes from edge of Solar System. These comets are covered with lots of ice and when it is moving towards the Sun, ice on comet melts and leads to formation of the Comet Tail.
This will be visible on Northwestern Sky. You need to be away from city or town to see this Comet.

World meteorological organization released the new record for longest lightning , On June 26, WMO released the information that using satellite lightning imagery technology scientist observed the single lightning flash covered the distance of 709 km across southern Brazil on 31 oct 2018.

Also they released the data for longest duration of single lightning flash for 16.73 seconds over northern Argentina on 4 march 2019

SpaceX launched its First Human flight from USA to International Space Station on May 30,2020

Previously on Saturday at 3.22pm EDT  Falcon 9 launched from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Doug Hurley and  Bob Behnken are two Astronaut are onBoard on Dargon capsule they are lifted to Low Earth Orbit of Earth , all happen in just 12 minutes from the launch time.while Falcon 9 consists of two stage rocket first one is reusable and it is landed back to Earth.Finally astronauts are Reached the ISS after 19 hours of Chasing the ISS. While on Board both astronauts have a option to choose the name to capsule they opted shuttle name Endeavour. Currently there are 5 astronauts on Board in ISS.

Every year ARM releases the new GPU and CPU architecture this year they have announced Mali-G78(GPU) and Cortex -A78(CPU)

Mavan satellite maps the electric currents around the Mars


Recent NASA press release stated that Maven satellite helps to Map the Electric current around the Mars.
These results helps us to know how mars has lost his atmosphere. Magnetic fields around the planets place the crucial role on preventing the planets from solar radiations.
Earth molten core creates the magnetic field that extend from north pole to south pole while this magnetic field will observe the charged particle from the sun. while in Mars there are no Magnetic fields as earth instead mars has induced magnetosphere this has been formed with the help of sun charged particles.
According to latest research the solar wind and induced magnetic field near mars cause the mars to behave as sphere carrying the electric current,these currents leads to disappearance of atmosphere in mars.
